Meeting Notes:

Team went through the context and question for China Vis track 1:

China Vis Track 1 Comments from Team
Time-Series Multivariate Education Data Visual Analytics Challenge
  • Similar to previous batch dataset on PISA results.

  • Possible to leverage on similar visualisation methods while adding context for China Vis

  • Dataset is relatively scattered and requires combination from the various files to aggregate and estimate student’s competency.

Multivariate Recruitment Data Visual Analytics Challenge
  • Data set relatively clean and easy to read as it is a single excel file.

  • Possibility of visualising with distribution graphs and correlation plots or heat map to see the count per education level, work experience.

Consult question for Prof:

  • If it is possible to make any assumptions on the relatively encoding for job titles, company.

  • If no meaningful insights from the anonymised job titles, companies, are there other ways to visualise to minimise granularity.
